Orville O'Neill will be in Corpus Christi for the South Texas Grand Master's Banquet and Conference. The Banquet will be at 7:00 PM 3/26/10 at Al Amin Shrine Center. As of Friday, 2/28, we only have 35 paid reservations. The deadline for reservations is Friday, March 19th so that a head count may be given to the caterer. There will be NO ticket sales at the door! Tickets cost $25.00 per person and checks should be made payable to MWSA District 37 and be mailed AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to MWSA 133 Atlantic St Corpus Christi TX 78404 There will also be a light breakfast available for a reasonable cost of $6.00 per person at the Conference on Saturday morning. Breakfast must be purchased at the conference and will be available on a first-come first-served basis. VISIT POSTPONED DDGM Charles Postel’s visit to Sunset Lodge: the main water pipe at Sunset Lodge broke and flooded the ground around the Lodge. Repair will have to wait until the ground has dried enough to support heavy equipment. The official visit will be rescheduled.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO LODGES (lodges in Corpus vicinity listed by Lodge number) CORPUS CHRISTI LODGE (meets first and third Mondays, 7:30 PM). Corpus Christi Lodge #189 is at 4114 Weber Road. The Lodge is on the East side of Weber Road. The Lodge can be reached by taking the Weber exit off South Padre Island Drive. Head Northward toward the bay. Just before you reach Hamlin Shopping Center (which is on the southeast corner of the intersection with S. Staples), the lodge is on the right. Watch for the Parkdale Baptist sign and turn into the small street. Parking is in the rear of the lodge. We generally enter through the parking-lot door. Alternatively, you can reach CC 189 from Ocean Drive by turning onto Doddridge. When you reach S. Staples, the street name changes from Doddridge to Weber Rd. Coming from Staples, the Lodge is on the left, just past the last businesses in Hamlin Shopping Center. Watch for the Parkdale Baptist sign, and turn into the small street. Parking is in the rear of the lodge. REFUGIO LODGE (meets second and fourth Mondays, 7:30 PM). Driving directions to Refugio Lodge No. 190: Located in Woodsboro, across the street from the High School. There are two routes north to Woodsboro. A. Through Sinton and north on US 77. Take the first Woodsboro turnoff to the right at the grain elevators, and proceed straight ahead (east). When you are almost to the end of that street, the lodge will be on the left, opposite the high school on the right. B. Though Portland, Gregory, and Bayside. Proceed on highway 35 through Gregory, toward Aransas Pass. North of Gregory, turn left on 136 and proceed north through Bayside. About two miles north of Bayside, turn left at the blinking light onto highway 1360. Proceed on 1360 as it goes west about 9 miles, then it bends right to go north into Woodsboro. Just past the high school, turn left and one short block later, on the right, is the Lodge. ROCKPORT LODGE NO. 323 (meets second and fourth Mondays, 7:30 PM). The Lodge is at 602 Hickory Avenue in Rockport. From State Route 35 near Rockport, take the highway 1069 (Market Street) exit, and proceed eastward (toward Aransas Bay). About one-half mile from SR 35, turn left onto Hickory Avenue. Go a little piece and the Lodge will be on your right. Your view of the Lodge from Market Street may be obstructed by high grass and trees. Caution: there is also a highway 1069 exit on SR 35 near Aransas Pass. That’s not the one you want if you want to go to Rockport Lodge. LOMA ALTO No. 544 at TILDEN (meets on first Saturday on or before the full moon, 7:30 PM). Driving directions to Loma Alto Lodge No. 544 in Tilden, Texas. Go west on 624 through Orange Grove until you come to Hwy. 16, then turn north and go 23 miles to Tilden. The Lodge hall is on the corner by the blinking light, across from the courthouse. "You can't miss it." Alternate route: You could also go to Three Rivers and turn west on Hwy 72 until you come to the blinking light, etc. S. B. MOSSER LODGE NO. 912 IN ALICE. (meets first and third Tuesdays, 7:00 PM). The Lodge is at 206 Mariposa Drive. From Corpus Christi (on highway 44), go to the first street after the third traffic light. Turn right, and the lodge will be on the right at the end of the street. CHAMBERLAIN LODGE No. 913 IN KINGSVILLE (meets third Thursdays, 7:30 PM. Practice Wednesdays at 6pm & most Saturdays at 9am). 1721 Senator Carlos Truan Blvd. In Kingsville, proceed south on Highway 77 Bypass. Take the turnoff to the right on Senator Carlos Truan Blvd. Look for the Lodge on the left about a quarter-mile after your turnoff. GREGORY LODGE IN TAFT, TEXAS. (Meets first and third Tuesdays, 7:30 PM). Driving directions to Gregory Lodge No. 998: It is at 917 Victoria Ave in Taft. Take Hwy US 181 to Taft. At the middle (second) traffic light, turn north on to Victoria Ave. The Lodge is the last building on the left, across the street from the high school baseball field. SINTON LODGE No. 1012 at Sinton, Texas (meets second and fourth Mondays, 7:30 PM) is at 9032 Highway 77 North Business route in Sinton, Texas. From downtown Sinton, take Business 77 North. After passing E. Welder Street, start looking for the Lodge on the right. ARANSAS LODGE (meets first and third Tuesdays, 7:30 PM). Driving directions to Aransas Lodge No. 1018. From Corpus Christi take US Hwy 181 N through Portland to Gregory. At Gregory leave 181 and go on SH 35N toward Aransas Pass and Rockport. Continue until you reach the right exit marked Aransas Pass and Port Aransas. This is Business 35N, and is W. Wheeler Ave. Continue past the new Wal-Mart store. Watch for the Diamond Shamrock Station on the right side of Wheeler. Opposite the station on the left side of Wheeler is the Lodge, next door to an auto parts store. Parking is in the rear of the lodge. Important: enter the lodge at the door next to the auto parts store. The door on the other side of the Lodge, which looks like the main door, is locked. ROBSTOWN LODGE NO. 1062 (meets first and third Mondays, 7:00 PM) is on Bauer Road in Robstown. If you are going north or south on 77 from Kingsville or Calallen, you exit heading west on State Highway 44 (not county road 44). At the Diamond Shamrock Station, State Highway 44 continues west to Alice. Get off 44 onto Bauer Road at the Shamrock station, heading north, toward the “bubble” water tower. Robstown Lodge is at the foot of the water tower on the left. Bauer Road is full of chuck holes so if you meet traffic be very careful of the chuck holes along the edge. OSO NAVAL LODGE NO. 1282 (meets first and third Tuesdays, 7:30 PM) is at 3215 Reid Drive in Corpus Christi near the intersection of Alameda and Texan Trail. Reid Drive parallels Alameda; the Lodge is on Reid behind the shopping center on Alameda which includes the Luby’s Cafeteria. From downtown Corpus Christi, proceed southerly on Shoreline and Ocean to Louisiana Ave. Take Louisiana to S. Alameda and proceed southerly on Alameda. After passing the HEB on Alameda, turn right on Glazebrook and then left on Reid, and the Lodge will be on your right. From South Padre Island Drive, take the Kostorycz exit and proceed north on Kostorycz to Staples. Right on Staples, then just past Ray High turn left on Texan Trail. Texan Trail to Alameda; turn left. Proceed past the shopping center block which has the Luby’s, and turn left on Glazebrook, then left on Reid and the Lodge will be on your right. INDEPENDENCE LODGE NO. 1337 (meets second and fourth Tuesdays, 7:30 PM) is at 1442 Shely. Proceed on Crosstown Expressway (Hwy 286) and take the Baldwin Street exit. Proceed eastward on Baldwin about 1/2 mile to the traffic signal at Ayers, and turn right on Ayers. Count the blocks on the right side of Ayers; go four blocks, about 1/3 of a mile, watching for Shely Street on the right. Turn right on Shely and go one block and the lodge parking lot and Independence Lodge are on your right. DEL MAR LODGE NO. 1350 (meets first and third Wednesdays, 7:00 PM) is at 1350 Woodlawn in Corpus Christi, at the corner of McArdle and Woodlawn. From downtown Corpus Christi, proceed east on Ocean Drive to Airline. Right on Airline, go to McArdle and take a left. Proceed easterly on McArdle, and the lodge will be on your right at the corner of Woodlawn. From South Padre Island Drive, take the Airline exit. Proceed north one block on Airline and take a right onto McArdle. Proceed easterly on McArdle, and the lodge will be on your right at the corner of Woodlawn. INGLESIDE LODGE NO. 1361 (meets first and third Mondays, 7:30 PM). Driving directions to Ingleside Lodge No. 1361. At Gregory, take the Ingleside road. At the main intersection in Ingleside (the traffic light at the HEB--Dairy Queen corner) turn right. Go a few blocks to Fourth Street and turn left (turn left at the Circle K). Proceed down Fourth Street and watch for the Lodge on your right at Henrietta St. There is a school on the left side of Fourth Street opposite the Lodge. SUNSET LODGE NO. 1388 (meets second and fourth Mondays, 7:30 PM) is at 8314 Leopard in Corpus Christi. Proceed on I-37 to Exit 7, Suntide-Tuloso. Proceed south on Suntide to Leopard. Turn right (west) on Leopard, go one-half mile and take the little street to the right and you’ll see the Lodge. PORTLAND LODGE NO. 1411 (meets second and fourth Tuesdays, 7:30 PM) is at 124 Sixth Ave in Portland, Texas. Take the Bay View Blvd exit off Hwy 181 (SR-35). Proceed easterly two blocks on Bayview and bend left onto Fifth Ave. Take a left on Commerce, and in the first block, on your right, is the Lodge. CORPUS CHRISTI YORK RITE TEMPLE is on the section of Baldwin that runs between Ayers and Crosstown Expressway. The Temple is at the intersection of Terrace Street with Baldwin. Driving from San Antonio way, follow I-37 toward Corpus Christi. Do not exit to the right onto Padre Island Drive (Rt 358). Continue about 3.7 miles and exit right on Crosstown Expressway, Rt 286. On 286, continue about 1.9 miles and take the Baldwin St exit. Take a left on Baldwin and follow it five short blocks and Terrace Street will be on your left, and you’ll see the Temple at the intersection.
