Master of Ceremonies

His Jewel is the Crossed Swords. The Master of Ceremonies is the Lodge's Ceremonial Conductor.

The Master of Ceremonies of a Masonic Blue Lodge is an appointed officer of the Lodge. The Master of Ceremonies is in some jurisdictions the "Director of Ceremonies" or may even be the Marshall. The Master of Ceremonies duties and principle role is the organization of processions and ensuring the correct precedence and etiquette in formal proceedings. It is his duty to assist the Senior Deacon in preparing Candidates for initiation and to see that the needs of the Candidate are provided, such as the Candidate Information Program , Ritualistic Instruction, Masonic Education, and information concerning the customs and usages of Masonry.  The Master of Ceremonies may also perform the duties of the Marshall such as, formally conduct visitors into the lodge and introduce them to the members when the lodge is in session. The Master of Ceremonies position is similar to that of a Supervisor.
